This wonderful woman has one of the sweetest smiles in the world. Her name is Zyatune, and she’s disabled from a disease she experienced when she was only 12. She cannot walk and to move, she drags herself crawling on the ground with the help of her arms. During our first visit, she gave us a huge handmade rug with woven raffia, just like the one where she is sitting all day.
When we visit her she is always very happy and her joy shines from her eyes and from her beautiful smile. She lives in a small house with her husband and daughter. At certain times of the year, it also hosts other children from the ROHP project who need shelter and someone to take care of them. She tells us that life has always been very hard for her and that for so long she prayed that the Lord would help her.
Now, with a heart full of gratitude, she tells us that our help has come as a clear response from God. We encouraged her and we said that in Italy there are many families who support her and pray for her and with eyes full of emotion she answered "Webale nnyo" which means "Thank you so much" in the local language.
As we hug her we feel all her emotion and gratitude that touches us deeply and we understand concretely the heart of God and the words of Jesus: "Truly I say to you, whenever you have done these things to one of these least of my brethren, You did it to me." (Matthew 25:40)
